Holden, LA – Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc., a leading manufacturer of custom fire and emergency vehicles, announced today the company had received another order from the City of Houston for nine new apparatus. There will be seven pumpers and two 107’ rear mount aerial apparatus, all of which will be built on Ferrara’s Igniter custom fire chassis.
Houston already has 23 Ferrara trucks in front-line service, all on Igniter custom chassis; 7 rear-mount 107’ aerial ladders, 14 custom pumpers and 2 high-pressure pumpers. Additionally, HFD’s new Igniter Haz-Mat vehicle is currently under construction at Ferrara’s factory. The Haz-Mat’s Igniter cab features a 24” raised roof, three doors for extra room in the command center and a cab to body walk-through.
